Account & Brand Setup

Before you build a course, take a few minutes to make Edmingle yours. This article walks you through your organization profile, your team, and your branding (logo, colors, and domain), so that everything your learners see reflects your brand, not Edmingle's.

You'll do this in Settings and the Website / Branding area. Set aside about 15-20 minutes.

1. Complete your organization profile

Your organization profile is the basic identity of your academy or business.

  1. Go to Settings → [Verify: Organization / Business Profile].
  2. Fill in:
    • Organization name: how your academy appears to learners.
    • Contact email and phone: used for learner communication and support.
    • Address / location: required for invoices and tax in some regions.
    • Time zone: important, because it controls how live class times and deadlines appear.
  3. Select Save.

Set your time zone correctly now. Getting it wrong later causes confusion around live class schedules and assignment deadlines.

2. Add your logo and brand colors

This is what makes the platform look like yours.

  1. Go to [Verify: Website / Branding / Appearance].
  2. Upload your logo. Use a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background for best results. [Verify: recommended dimensions, e.g. 250×60px.]
  3. Upload a favicon: the small icon shown in the browser tab. [Verify: recommended size, e.g. 32×32px.]
  4. Set your brand colors: usually a primary and accent color. Match your existing website or brand kit.
  5. Preview your changes, then Save / Publish.

3. Set up your domain

By default your school lives on an Edmingle subdomain. Connecting your own domain makes it fully branded.

  • Default subdomain: something like yourschool.edmingle.com. Works immediately, no setup needed. [Verify: subdomain format.]
  • Custom domain: e.g. learn.yourbusiness.com. This requires a DNS change with your domain provider.

To connect a custom domain:

  1. Go to [Verify: Settings → Domain / Website settings].
  2. Enter the domain you want to use.
  3. Add the DNS records Edmingle provides (usually a CNAME) in your domain provider's dashboard (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, etc.).
  4. Return to Edmingle and select Verify / Connect. DNS changes can take a few minutes to a few hours to take effect.

If DNS isn't your area, hand the records Edmingle gives you to whoever manages your website, or contact support (see Getting Help).

4. Set up your branded mobile apps (if included)

Edmingle can publish white-label iOS and Android apps carrying your brand. [Verify: whether this is included on your plan or is an add-on, and the exact process (app publishing usually involves developer accounts and a review step).] If this applies to you, follow the dedicated app-setup flow in [Verify: location] or reach out to support to get started.

5. Invite your team

If others will help run your academy, add them now and give each the right level of access.

  1. Go to Settings → [Verify: Team / Users / Members].
  2. Select Invite / Add member.
  3. Enter their email address.
  4. Choose a role:
    • Admin: full access, including billing and settings.
    • Instructor: manages their assigned courses, batches, and learners.
    • [Verify: other roles, e.g. Support, Marketing, Manager.]
  5. Send the invite. They'll receive an email to set their password and log in.

Follow the principle of least access, give each person only the permissions their job needs. You can change roles anytime.

6. Configure notifications and sender identity

So that emails to learners come from you:

  1. Go to Settings → [Verify: Notifications / Email settings].
  2. Set your sender name and reply-to email.
  3. Review the default learner emails (welcome, enrollment, reminders) and adjust wording if needed. [Verify: which templates are editable.]

Setup checklist

Before moving on, confirm you've done the following:

  • Organization name, contact details, and time zone set

  • Logo and favicon uploaded

  • Brand colors applied

  • Domain connected (subdomain is fine to start)

  • Team members invited with correct roles

  • Sender name and reply-to email set

Your brand is in place. Now for the fun part: Building Your First Course.
