Using Courses as AI Context
For Veda AI to answer questions about your material, each course must be allowed as AI context. This article covers the three places you control that.
These options appear only when AI is enabled on your plan.
When creating a course
On the Create Course screen, turn on Allow this course to be used as AI context. When enabled, the course can be used as context by the AI to answer learner questions about its content.
On an existing course
In the course's Details tab, use Enable Course Context for AI. This allows the AI to access the course's content as context during chats for more relevant answers, and it also feeds content generation and live-class summaries linked to that course.
The description shows an estimate of the AI credits this will use.
In bulk from the AI Companion
To manage many courses at once, use Veda AI → AI Companion → Enable Indexing of Courses → View. There you can search courses, see which are enabled, and tick several at a time, with a credit estimate before saving. See AI Companion.
What to expect
[!Important] Enabling AI context triggers indexing, which can take up to 24 hours. It also consumes AI credits, so review the estimate shown before saving (see AI Credits).
Index the courses learners ask about most first. Every indexed course improves Companion answers, summaries, and generated content, but each one costs credits, so start where the impact is highest.
