Saving, Publishing & Restoring

Changes you make in the builder stay private until you publish. Save keeps a draft, Publish makes it live, and Restore rolls back if something goes wrong.

Save a draft

Click Save in the top bar. The builder saves every page you've changed and confirms with Draft saved and the number of pages saved. Visitors still see your current live site.

The builder does not save automatically. Click Save regularly, and always before you close the tab.

Preview your site

Click Preview (the play icon) in the top bar to see the current page as visitors will. Links in the preview take you to your other pages. Check each device size before publishing.

Publish your site

  1. Click Publish in the top bar.
  2. If you have unsaved changes, the builder saves them first.
  3. A progress screen shows Publishing your website. When it finishes you'll see Latest version is now live.

Publishing makes all your saved page changes live at once.

Before publishing, preview on Tablet and Mobile, click through your menu links, and check that course sections show the courses you expect.

Restore a previous version

Restore in the top bar does one of two things, depending on your publishing history. Hover it to see which.

Button tooltip What happens Live site
Reset to live version Discards your unpublished draft changes and reloads the editor with what's currently live. Unchanged
Reset to previous version Replaces both the editor and your live site with the version you published before the current one. The current version is deleted. Rolled back

Confirm with Restore. Restore is disabled until you've published at least once (No published version to restore).

Reset to previous version changes your live site immediately and can't be undone. Use it only to roll back a bad publish.

Undo and redo

Use Undo and Redo in the top bar (Ctrl/Cmd + Z and Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z) to step through changes you've made in this session.
