System Notifications
System Notifications controls the automatic, transactional messages your platform sends learners, things like signup confirmations, session reminders, and course welcomes. For each event you choose which channels send it and edit the message template. It sits under Settings → System Notifications.
These are transactional notifications (distinct from the marketing messages in Promotional Templates). Some of them deduct credits from your wallet, which the page notes at the top.
How it is organized
Notifications are grouped into tabs by area, such as Login & Signup, Courses, Miscellaneous (announcements, certificates, feedback forms, assignments, course-expiry reminders), and, if enabled for your account, Community System and Mentorship.
Each tab lists individual events (for example, "Signup Confirmation", "Session Reminder", "Course Welcome", "Certificate Awarded").
Turning channels on or off
For each event, tick or untick the channels you want it sent on:
- SMS
- Mobile Push
A channel only appears for an event if it is available for it, and a checkbox is disabled if that channel is turned off at the organization level (see Manage Notifications below).
Editing a template
Use Edit Template on an event, then pick a channel to open its editor in a drawer. Insert placeholders (like the learner's name) to personalize the message.
A few events (such as Certificate Awarded and community system messages) do not allow template editing; you can still toggle their channels. For sensitive login emails (OTPs, password resets), CC/BCC options are hidden.
Manage Notifications (organization-level switches)
Use Manage Notifications (top of the page) to turn a whole channel on or off for all learners: Email, WhatsApp, Push, or SMS. If a channel is off here, its per-event checkboxes are disabled.
WhatsApp can only be enabled once you have connected a WhatsApp provider in Integrations. If it is greyed out, connect your provider first.
Notifications 1.0 vs 2.0
Older organizations may see a Switch to Notifications 2.0 option.
Switching from 1.0 to 2.0 does not carry over your 1.0 settings (email templates including CC/BCC, SMS templates, and notification channels). The confirmation dialog explains this. Review and re-set your templates and channels after switching.
Permissions
Viewing needs notifications read access; changing toggles, editing templates, and Manage Notifications need notifications write access. Admins have full access.
