Session Recordings

Session Recordings is your single place to manage the recordings of live class sessions across all your batches: play them, publish or unpublish them to learners, replace them, download them, and delete them. It sits under Learning → Session Recordings.

Where recordings come from

Recordings are created at the batch session level: when a live class is recorded or a recording is uploaded to a session. This page aggregates those recordings across all your batches so you can manage them in one place.

The recordings list

Each row is a session recording, showing:

  • Class name (with a thumbnail and the class date)
  • Batches: the batch and class it belongs to.
  • Instructor
  • Status: Published or Unpublished (whether learners can see it).
  • Actions

Search by name, filter by batch and date, and use the batch-status dropdown to view recordings from Active, Completed, or Archived batches.

The status column shows only Published or Unpublished. A recording that is still being processed after upload will show a "still processing" message when you try to play it, rather than a separate status.

Playing a recording

Click a recording's row to open it and play. The player shows the video name, the date it was created, and its duration.

Actions on a recording

Open the Actions menu on a recording:

  • Publish / Unpublish: control whether learners can watch the recording.
  • Download: download the video. For standard videos you choose a resolution (240p up to 1080p).
  • Download Transcript: download the recording's transcript (when available).
  • Upload and Replace Recording: replace the recording by uploading an MP4 or WebM file, pasting a YouTube or Vimeo link, or importing from your Asset Library.
  • Unpublish and Delete: remove the recording.

Deleting a recording cannot be undone. The confirmation notes that once deleted the video can't be recovered, and that storage changes may take up to 6 hours to reflect. Be sure before deleting.

Bulk actions

Tick multiple recordings and use the bulk Unpublish and delete action to remove several at once (subject to delete permission). Select at least one recording first.

Storage

If your account tracks live-class storage separately, the page shows your storage used, limit, and remaining. As you approach the limit you will see a warning, and an option to request more storage from support.

Permissions

Actions are permission-gated:

  • View recordings: recording read access.
  • Publish/Unpublish and Upload/Replace: recording write access.
  • Download and transcript: recording download access (instructors can download only if enabled for your institute).
  • Delete: recording delete access.

Admins have full access.
