Introduction to Veda AI
Veda AI is Edmingle's built-in AI assistant suite. Instead of one general chatbot, it is a set of specialized agents, each trained for a specific job in your academy: answering learner doubts, running mock interviews, summarizing sessions, drafting content, and grading assignments.
You find it under Veda AI, the first item in the left-hand menu.
Veda AI appears only when AI is enabled on your plan. If you do not see it in the menu, AI is not included for your account.
The agents
Veda AI is organized into learner-facing and admin-facing agents.
Learner agents (your learners interact with these):
AI Companion: a 24/7 study partner that answers questions and explains concepts, grounded in your own course content.
AI Interviewer: realistic mock interviews with adaptive questions and scored, actionable feedback.
AI Summarizer: concise summaries of live sessions and material, so learners can review without rewatching recordings.
Admin agents (your team uses these):
Content Generator: draft assessment questions (and other content) from your material instead of writing everything by hand.
AI Evaluation: auto-grade assignment submissions against your rubric and draft feedback for you to review.
Each agent is turned on separately, so you can adopt them one at a time.
How Veda AI knows your content
Two things shape every agent's behavior:
Your AI persona: the name, tone of voice, and the topics your institution covers. Topics define the AI's scope; anything outside them is treated as out of scope.
Course indexing: allowing courses to be used as AI context. Indexed course content and live sessions are what let the Companion answer accurately, the Summarizer summarize, and the Content Generator stay on-curriculum.
Indexing is what turns generic AI into your AI. Until you index the relevant courses, answers will be limited. Indexing can take up to 24 hours and consumes AI credits.
What it costs to run
AI credits: a balance your academy tops up, spent on work like course indexing and assignment evaluation. The balance lives in your Utility Wallet, and usage is tracked in Usage Analytics.
AI Companion seats: Companion access is seat-based; only learners you add can use it.
How the section is organized
Inside Veda AI you will find:
Configure Veda: the one-time setup (this is replaced by Usage Analytics and General Settings once you finish).
Usage Analytics: adoption, message volume, power users, and credits used.
Learner Agents: AI Companion, AI Interviewer, AI Summarizer.
Admin Agents: Content Generator, AI Evaluation.
General Settings: your AI's name, avatar, tone, and topics.
Getting started
Complete setup in Setting Up Veda AI: name your AI, pick a tone, and choose your topics.
Enable the agent you most need, and turn on course indexing so it has your content to work with.
For the Companion, assign learner seats so learners can use it.
Check Usage Analytics after a week or two to see adoption and credit consumption.
Start with one agent and one clear use case, usually the AI Companion on your two or three busiest courses. It is the fastest way to see value, and it gets your content indexed for the other agents at the same time.
