Introduction to Abandoned Cart
The Abandoned Cart module shows you learners who started checkout but did not complete their purchase, so you can follow up and recover the sale. This article explains what it tracks and how it fits with your recovery tools.
Where abandoned cart lives
It sits under Sales → Abandoned Cart in the left-hand menu.
What it tracks
A learner is counted as an abandoned checkout when they reach the checkout page for a course but do not complete the purchase within 2 hours. The module lists these learners with what they were about to buy and the cart value.
Before you can use it
[!Important] Abandoned Cart is a Prime-plan feature. It is available from the Prime plan and above. On lower plans you will see an upgrade prompt instead of the module.
A tracking view, not a recovery tool
This is important to understand up front:
The Abandoned Cart module is read-only tracking. It does not send reminders, enroll learners, or contact anyone by itself. The only action on a row is View Profile. Recovery is done through Workflows and Segments, covered in Recovering Abandoned Carts.
Parent mode
If the parent add-on is enabled for your account, the module tracks parents instead of learners, and the labels change accordingly ("Parent Name", "Parents Details", and so on).
Permissions
- View abandoned carts: abandoned-cart read access.
- Open a learner's profile: learner read access (without it, the row action is unavailable).
Admins have full access.
