Viewing & Using Segments

This article covers seeing who is in a segment, exporting members, and reusing a segment across the platform, plus the segments list.

The Segments list

Go to Users → Segments. The list shows:

List of user segments with details and actions.
  • Segment Name
  • Type (Static or Dynamic)
  • Learners (the current member count)
  • Created On
  • Actions

Search by name to find a segment. Click a row to open its details.

Row actions

Open the Actions menu on a segment:

Segments page with a list of segments and actions menu open.
  • View Details: open the segment and its members.
  • Edit: change the segment.

There is no delete or duplicate action. Segments cannot be removed from the interface.

Segment details and members

Opening a segment shows its members with:

  • Name
  • Contact Details
  • Added On

Search the member list, and for dynamic segments see a Learners over time chart showing how the group has grown over the last 30 days.

Exporting members

Use Download CSV on the details page to export the member list (requires write permission).

Using a segment elsewhere

Once a segment exists, select it as an audience in:

  • Campaigns: choose "Select a segment" as the campaign audience.

  • Workflows: choose "Segment Triggered" so learners in the segment enter the automation.

Configure Trigger dialog with Segment Triggered selected.
  • Feedback surveys: choose "Segment Selection" to target the survey.

The consuming feature shows the segment's name and current learner count when you pick it.

If a workflow is using a segment, you must deactivate that workflow before you can change the segment configuration it relies on.

You're done

That completes the Segments collection. You can now create static and dynamic segments, build filter rules, review and export members, and reuse segments across campaigns, workflows, and surveys.
