Building & Testing Content
Step 3 of the wizard is Build and Test: attach the message and send yourself a test. This article covers both.
Select a template
Under 1. Message, choose a template for your channel from the dropdown (only promotional templates for the selected channel are shown).
Campaign content comes from a saved template, not composed inline. The content fields shown here are read-only previews of the template you pick.
If you need a new template, choose Add Template in the dropdown (requires template permission). This opens the template builder for your channel (Email, WhatsApp, SMS, or Push) in a drawer; once saved, it becomes selectable.
Content by channel
What you see depends on the channel:
- Email: the Email Subject and Content (body) from the template.
- WhatsApp: the template body and its buttons, plus a Target Link where applicable.
- SMS: the DLT Template ID and the template text, with live character and SMS count indicators.
- Push: the push message preview.
For SMS, the character and SMS counts are an estimate, since personalization placeholders are replaced with real learner data at send time, which changes the final length.
A live preview on the right shows how the message will appear on the chosen channel.
Send a test
Under Test your campaign, send yourself a test before going live:
- Enter a test email address (for email or email-based push) or a mobile / WhatsApp number with country code (for WhatsApp, SMS, or mobile-based push).
- Click Test.
You will see "Test Notification Sent". Check that the message renders correctly and that personalization looks right.
Always send a test to yourself first. It is the quickest way to catch a broken link, a wrong subject line, or a personalization tag that did not fill in.
Finish
When the content and test look good, you are ready to send. See Sending & Managing Campaigns for going live versus saving as a draft.
