Building the Flow

After the trigger, you build the journey by adding nodes. This article covers the node types and the rules for a valid workflow.

Add a node

On the canvas, click the round + at the end of the flow, or the + on a connector between nodes. Choose what to add:

  • Wait Block
  • Message Block
  • Action Block

Nodes connect in a single chain from the trigger onward.

Wait Block

A wait pauses the journey before the next step.

  1. Add a Wait Block.
  2. Set the Wait Duration (at least 1) and the unit: Minutes, Hours, or Days.
  3. Save with Update Time.

The node shows the wait, for example "Wait 1 Day(s)".

Message Block

A message sends a notification using a template.

  1. Add a Message Block.
  2. Choose a Channel: Email, Push, or WhatsApp.
  3. Choose a Template (only active promotional templates for that channel appear). If you need a new one, choose Add Template to open the template builder (requires template permission).
  4. Check the live preview, then Update Message.

The Message Block offers Email, Push, and WhatsApp. SMS is not currently selectable as a workflow message channel. Content comes from a saved template; you do not compose it inline.

Action Block

An action does something beyond messaging.

  1. Add an Action Block and choose:

    • API Call: call an external API. Set the method (POST, PUT, or PATCH), the URL, and any headers, body, and params. You can copy merge-tag placeholders for personalization.
    • Use Integration: send data to a marketing integration (for example, Google Analytics 4). An integration must be enabled in settings to be selectable; some options are marked "Coming Soon".
Add Action Block modal with API Call and Use Integration options.

Rules for a valid workflow

Before you can save, the flow must satisfy these rules:

  • The trigger must be set (not left as "Please select a trigger").
  • There must be at least one step after the trigger.
  • All nodes must be connected; orphaned nodes block saving.
  • The workflow must have a name.
  • Every Message Block must have a template.
  • Wait durations must be 1 or more.

The last node cannot be a Wait Block. A workflow must end on a message or action, or you will see an error asking you to remove the trailing wait or add a message block.
