Creating a Membership

Creating a membership is a three-step wizard: Basic Details, Pricing Plans, and Inclusions. This article covers step 1. The next two articles cover the remaining steps.

Start creating

Go to Products → Memberships and click Create New Plan. The wizard opens on the Basic Details tab, with a live preview of the membership card on the right.

Memberships page with a list of plans and a 'Create New Plan' button.Create Membership form with input fields and preview panel.

The three steps are sequential. You cannot jump ahead until the current step is valid; the platform shows "Complete the previous steps before accessing this tab" if you try. A completed step shows a check mark on its tab.

Fields

Membership Name (required)

The name learners see, up to 50 characters (a counter is shown). It cannot be blank or spaces only.

Membership benefits (required)

Create Membership form with fields for name and benefits.

The selling points shown on the membership card. You must provide at least two benefits. Each benefit is a short line of text and cannot be blank. Two empty rows appear by default; use + Add another benefit to add more, and the delete icon to remove any beyond the first two.

Category (optional)

One or more categories to classify the membership, chosen from your configured categories. This is a searchable multi-select. Clearing all categories removes the membership's categorization.

Enable free trial (optional)

Turn this on to offer a free trial. When on, set Trial days (the number of free days). The Trial days field is disabled until the switch is on, and turning it on defaults sensibly. Leave the switch off for no trial.

Disable Auto-payments (optional)

By default, membership renewals are auto-debited and a payment mandate is set up. Turn this on to disable auto-payments: learners then manually renew each cycle, the renewal amount is not auto-debited, and no mandate is required.

The Disable Auto-payments setting is locked once the membership is created. It cannot be changed in edit mode, so decide before saving whether this membership should auto-renew or require manual renewal.

The preview card

As you type, the card on the right updates to show how the membership will appear to learners, including the name, price (once plans are added), benefits, and a "Purchase membership" button. Empty fields show placeholder text until you fill them in.

Move to the next step

Click Proceed to continue to Pricing Plans. If required fields are missing, you will see "Please Enter Basic Details".

To leave without saving, click Cancel. You will be warned that unsaved changes will be lost before being returned to the Memberships page.
