Enabling Memberships

Before you can create any membership plans, you enable memberships for your organization once. This sets up your membership area and its public landing page. This article covers that one-time step.

The starting point

Go to Products → Memberships. If you have not enabled memberships yet, you will see a feature introduction banner instead of a list, explaining recurring revenue and how memberships work.

If you see an upgrade prompt rather than the banner, your plan does not include memberships. It is available from the Prime plan and above.

Turn memberships on

  1. On the introduction banner, click Get Started.

  2. The Name your membership dialog opens. Fill in:

    • Name (required): the name of your membership area, up to 50 characters.

    • Description (required): a short description, up to 200 characters.

    • Landing Page URL: the web address for your membership page. It uses your academy domain with a /subscription/ prefix (for example, https://yoursubdomain.edmingle.com/subscription/your-slug). The slug allows lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes.

  3. Click Create.

Once created, the Memberships list appears and you can start adding plans.

Membership status (org-level)

Memberships have an organization-level status that controls whether the module is visible to learners:

  • The header shows a status pill, either Membership : LIVE or Membership : INACTIVE.

Memberships list with status and actions columns.
  • Click it to open the Membership Status dialog, where you toggle Active or Inactive.

Membership Settings dialog with Active status and link to copy.
  • Activating shows the membership area on the learner web and app. This dialog also gives you the pricing page link ({your domain}/memberships) with a copy button, and a note about making the link visible via your website builder.

Keep the org-level status Inactive while you build and test your plans. Switch it to Active only when you are ready for learners to see and buy memberships.

The payment gateway requirement

Memberships only work with Razorpay or Stripe as your payment gateway. If your account uses a different gateway, the Memberships list shows a notice that memberships are not supported on it, and payments will not process. Connect Razorpay or Stripe before going live.

Setup checklist

  • Plan is Prime or above

  • Razorpay or Stripe connected as the payment gateway

  • Memberships enabled via Get Started

  • Name, description, and landing page URL set

  • Org-level status left Inactive until your plans are ready

What's next
