Managing Memberships & Plans

This article covers the Memberships list: what you see, how to change a membership's status, edit it, and the permissions and constraints involved.

The Memberships list

Go to Products → Memberships. Once memberships are enabled and at least one exists, you see the list with these columns:

Memberships page showing a list of plans with active members and courses included.
  • Membership Name (click to open the members details view).
  • Active Members.
  • Courses Included (shown as "N Course(s)", sortable).
  • Status (ACTIVE or INACTIVE).
  • Actions.

You can filter by status. Note there is no free-text search on this list.

If your payment gateway is not Razorpay or Stripe, an information bar appears at the top of the list explaining that memberships are only supported on those gateways.

Membership (plan) status: Active and Inactive

Each membership has its own Active / Inactive status, separate from the organization-level status.

  • Active: the membership is available to learners (subject to the org-level status being live).
  • Inactive: the membership is hidden from learners.

Toggle it from the row's Actions menu using Mark as Inactive or Mark as Active. A success message confirms the change.

Row actions

Open the Actions menu on a membership:

Memberships list with action menu open on 'Edit' option.
  • Edit: reopen the three-step wizard to change the membership.
  • View Details: open the members/subscribers view.
  • Mark as Inactive / Mark as Active: toggle its status.

Memberships do not have archive, delete, clone, or reorder actions. To take a membership out of circulation, set it to Inactive.

Editing a membership

Choosing Edit reopens the wizard (Basic Details, Pricing Plans, Inclusions). Keep two constraints in mind:

Edit Membership page with Basic Details tab selected.

The Disable Auto-payments setting is locked after creation and cannot be changed when editing. If you need a different auto-payment behavior, create a new membership instead.

Other fields (name, benefits, category, trial, plans, and included courses) can be updated. Save with Edit Membership at the end of the wizard.

Organization-level status

Remember there are two status levels:

  • Organization-level (the header pill, Membership : LIVE / INACTIVE): controls whether the whole membership module is shown to learners on web and app.
  • Membership-level (the Status column, ACTIVE / INACTIVE): controls whether an individual membership is shown.

Both must be active for a membership to be visible and purchasable.

Permissions

Actions are permission-gated. Broadly:

  • View list and details: manage-read.
  • Create a membership: create-write.
  • Edit a membership: manage-write.
  • Change a membership's status: manage-delete.

Admins have full access. Buttons and the Actions column are hidden when you lack the relevant permission.

You're done

That completes the Memberships collection. You can now enable memberships, create plans with recurring pricing and included courses, manage subscribers, and control visibility at both the organization and membership level.
