Grading Quizzes, Exercises & Programming Assignments
Quizzes (tests), online exercises, and programming assignments are all reviewed in the same marking system. Most answers are auto-scored, and you can adjust marks per question, review proctoring, and qualify or disqualify an attempt. This article covers that screen.
Programming assignments are reviewed through this same marking system, not the file-based assignment screen.
Open an attempt for review
From the Submissions list, click Review on a quiz, exercise, or programming assignment row. The Review screen opens with the assessment name and an info popover (total questions, sections, and duration).
The attempt overview
The screen summarizes the learner's attempt:
- Time taken, and question stats: attempted, skipped, correct, and incorrect.
- Learner details: name, submitted-on, status (Not Evaluated or Evaluated), attempt ID, and IP.
- Result cards: grade (Passed or Failed with the grade range), marks obtained, percentage, and accuracy.
Proctoring (if used)
If the assessment was proctored, you will also see a Fairness Score and Violations (with details on hover), plus a Proctoring Report you can Download as a PDF.
Review questions and adjust marks
- Choose Review Questions to go through the attempt question by question. Use the section selector to move between sections, and the legend to see answered, unanswered, and skipped questions.
- Each question shows its type, maximum marks, difficulty, any negative marking, and an explanation.
- To change scores, use Edit Marks, enter the mark per question (it cannot exceed that question's maximum), then Update. Use Back to Reports to return to the overview.
A mark cannot exceed a question's total ("Marks obtained cannot be more than total marks of question."). Question-wise editing is available only while the attempt is Not Evaluated; if it is evaluated, mark it not evaluated first.
Mark as evaluated
Use Mark as Evaluated in the header to finalize. You cannot mark as evaluated while you are mid-edit; save your changes first.

[!Important] As with assignments, grades lock once evaluated. Set the attempt back to Not Evaluated to change any marks.
Qualify or disqualify an attempt
You can invalidate a suspicious attempt, or restore one:
Disqualify Attempt: marks the attempt failed. You can add an optional comment that is shown to the learner.

Qualify Attempt: reverses a disqualification.
Both ask for confirmation, and you will see a success message when done.
