Issuing Certificates
This article covers issuing certificates manually: to selected learners, in bulk via CSV, and from within a batch. Automated templates issue on their own (see the automation article).
Issue from a template
Go to Learning → Certificates, open a template's View Details, and click Issue Certificate (or use Issue Certificate from the template).
The Issue Certificate screen opens with two tabs: Select Learners and Import from file.

Select Learners
- Fill in the common details:
- Course / Project Name (required): the course or project the certificate is for.
- Issued Date (required): defaults to today.
- Start date and End date (optional): the period the certificate covers.
- Fill any custom fields on the template (hidden for automated templates). Mandatory ones must be completed; some accept a file.
- Click Select Learners to open the picker.
- Click Issue Certificate.
The details on this tab are common to all selected learners. For personalized values (grades, IDs), issue individually or use the CSV import.
The learner picker
In the Select Learners drawer:
- Filter by Course and Filter by Batch to narrow the list (archived courses are marked).
- Search for a learner.
- Choose Select all learners or Select Learners Manually (then tick learners in the table).
- The drawer shows how many learners are selected.
Import from file (bulk)
For large or personalized batches, use the Import from file tab:
- Download the Sample File to get the correct format.
- Fill it in following the guidelines:
- Text fields: up to 64 characters.
- Custom fields: prefix the column name with
#custom_(for example,#custom_Rank). - Field names are case-sensitive.
- Images cannot be added via the CSV; use the +Add Image Field option to attach images.
- Upload your file (CSV, up to 1MB).
- Click Issue Certificate.
The CSV must contain only emails of learners already registered on the platform.
Issue from within a batch
You can also issue from a batch:
Open the batch and select the learners you want.

Choose Issue Certificate.
In the drawer, pick the certificate template (Course/Project Name and dates are prefilled from the batch), complete any custom fields, and issue.
You cannot issue certificates to an archived batch.
After issuing
You will see "Certificate(s) issued successfully" and land on the issued-certificates list, where you can publish, download, and manage them (next article).
