Managing Templates & Using Placeholders
This article covers the templates list, editing, and how to personalize any template with placeholders.
The templates list
Go to Marketing → Promotional Templates. A dropdown at the top selects which channel you are viewing: Email, SMS, Whatsapp, or Push Templates (one channel at a time). The list shows:

- Template Name
- Created On
- Status (for WhatsApp, its approval status)
- Actions
Search by name to find a template.
Creating and editing
Add Template opens the builder for the currently selected channel.

On a row, Edit opens the template for changes.
The list shows only active templates. The only row action is Edit; there is no delete, duplicate, or preview from the list in the current version. Remember that WhatsApp templates cannot be edited (create a new one), and an SMS template's name is locked after creation.
Using placeholders (personalization)
Placeholders (merge tags) insert each recipient's real data, such as their name or course, into the message.
In any builder, open the Placeholders menu.

Pick the placeholder you need. Available placeholders depend on the channel.
On the standalone builder, the placeholder is copied to your clipboard; paste it where you want it in the body. (When adding a template from inside a campaign or workflow, it is inserted directly.)
Placeholders appear in the body as merge tags like {{learner_name}} and are replaced with real values when the message is sent.
Preview before you rely on a template, and remember that placeholders change the final length of SMS messages, so leave headroom on the character count.
Where your templates appear
Once created, promotional templates are available to select when you build a Campaign or a Workflow message step, matched to the channel you are sending on.
You're done
That completes the Promotional Templates collection. You can now build reusable Email, WhatsApp, SMS, and Push templates, personalize them with placeholders, and use them across your campaigns and workflows.
