Issuing Certificates
Certificates recognize learners who complete a course. On Edmingle, certificates are handled in their own Certificates area rather than inside the batch form, but they are closely tied to a batch's learners. This article covers how to issue them.
Certificates are a separate module from batches. You design certificate templates and issue certificates from the Certificates area, then select the course and learners (which scopes to the relevant batch).
Issue a certificate
- Go to the Certificates area and choose Issue Certificate.
- Select the course (project) the certificate is for.
- Choose who receives it:
- Select learners from that course or batch, or
- Import from file to issue in bulk from a CSV.
- Issue the certificates. Selected learners receive their certificate.
Certificate templates
Certificate templates are built in the certificate template builder within the Certificates area. Set up your template, with your logo, signatures, and layout, before issuing so that certificates carry your branding.
Marking a batch complete
When a batch's run ends, you can Mark as completed from the batch list actions. This marks the batch's learners as completed.

Marking a batch as completed cannot be undone. Make sure the batch has genuinely finished and learners have met your criteria before you do this.
Completion status is a natural checkpoint for issuing certificates: mark the batch complete, confirm learners meet your criteria (using the progress and attendance reports), then issue certificates to that batch's learners.
Suggested flow
- Build your certificate template in the Certificates area.
- Use the batch's Content Progress, Assessment Progress, and Attendance Report to confirm who qualifies.
- Mark the batch as completed when its run ends.
- Issue certificates via Issue Certificate, selecting the course and its learners.
