Publishing & Visibility

For learners to see and register for an event, two things must be true: the event must be published, and the Events module must be active. This article explains both, plus how to preview and share an event.

Publish or unpublish an event

Each event has a visibility state:

  • Published: visible to learners.
  • Unpublished: hidden from learners.

You set this with the Status field when creating or editing an event, and you can change it later from the events list or the event's Overview:

  • Publish: make an unpublished event visible.
  • Unpublish: hide a published event. You will be asked to confirm, since the event will no longer be visible to users.

Publish and unpublish are not available for every event. A Cancelled or Expired event cannot be published or unpublished, and a Live Now event exposes no actions at all.

The Events module switch

Above individual events, a header control shows Events : LIVE or Events : INACTIVE. This is the master switch for the whole events area.

  1. Click the Events status control.

Events page with list of events and filter options.
  2. In the Event Status dialog, toggle Active or Inactive.

Event Settings dialog with Active status highlighted
  3. Activating shows the events module to learners on web and app.

[!Important] An event is only visible to learners when both are true: the Events module is active and the individual event is published. If learners cannot see a published event, check that the module switch is on.

Preview and share

From an event's Overview you can:

Event Details page with Preview Event button highlighted.
  • Preview Event: open the event's public page as a learner would see it.
  • Copy Event Link: copy the public link to share.

From the events list, Copy public URL copies a direct link (available for upcoming and live events).

What is not available

To set expectations, events do not have some options that courses do:

  • No separate publish to Android or iOS (visibility is controlled by the module switch and publish state).
  • No Featured or Hide Pricing toggles.
  • No dedicated SEO or landing-page tab; the public event page and its link are the sharing surface.

What's next

Once people start registering, manage them in Registrations & Attendees.
