Building Your Curriculum: Modules & Sections
Your curriculum is built in the Modules tab of a course. Modules are the big building blocks; sections group content within each module. This article covers creating both. Adding the actual content (videos, PDFs, quizzes, and so on) is covered in the next article.
Open the Modules tab
Go to Products → Courses and open your course.
Select the Modules tab.

Here you will see the list of modules in the course, each showing its section count as Sections (n).
Add a module
In the Modules tab, click Add Module.
Choose how to create it:
Create from scratch: build a new, empty module.
Use from another course: clone an existing module from one of your other courses, including its content. This is a big time-saver when reusing material.
Enter the Module Name.
Click Create Module.
If you teach overlapping topics across courses, build a module well once and use Use from another course to reuse it everywhere. Update the source and re-clone as your material improves.
Add a section
Sections live inside modules and group related materials.
Open a module to manage its sections.
Click to add a section.
Fill in:
Section Name (required).
Short description (optional).
Make this a prerequisite (optional): learners must complete this section before moving on.
Save the section.
Ordering and prerequisites
You can arrange modules and sections in the order you want learners to experience them.
Marking a section as a prerequisite enforces sequence, so learners complete it before the rest unlocks.
Course-wide sequential unlocking is also available as Make Modules Prerequisite in the course Details tab (covered in a later article).
Prerequisites are optional. For a flexible, browse-anything course, leave them off. For a structured program where order matters, turn them on.
Suggested workflow
Create all your modules first as an outline (even empty).
Add sections to break each module into logical chunks.
Then add materials to each section (next article).
This top-down approach keeps large courses organized and makes gaps easy to spot.
